Elizabeth Brown is a gardener, writer, and mother who lives in Maine. She is a Master Gardener volunteer, certified therapeutic horticulturist, and a 2021 graduate of the Gardeners’ Workshop Farmer Flower School. Her first book, The Beginner’s Cut Flower Garden, will be released by Timber Press in 2026.

about the farmhouse
Foxglove Farmhouse is a small regenerative flower garden in coastal Maine. If you follow the tidal York River from the sea, up along the winding salt marshes to the west side of town, there you will find us. Our purpose is a simple one, to grow sustainable local flowers, and encourage others to do the same. We believe flowers have the power to heal, connect, and bring joy, often when we need it most. And more importantly, that the best flowers are those grown with your own two hands.
Growing Practices
At the Foxglove Farmhouse, sustainability is front of mind. Our garden beds have been prepared following no-till methods and we never treat our soil, or flowers with chemicals. The farmhouse is where we live, where our children play, and where we grow flowers for the community. Providing blooms that are not only beautiful, but safe for you to have in your hands, is the cornerstone to our growing practices.
Floral Designs
In our floral design we use no foam, and limited single use plastic. We are committed to ensuring our floral design reflects the beauty in our local landscape, while protecting the natural resources that inspire us.
